This experiment took place with peel-apart film which is different different to integral film. These films are pretty much defunct today, so I bought a batch of someone else’s failed films from eBay. I love failed films as they allow the greatest amount of creative freedom. As the films had already been processed, I only had the resulting photographs, so wasn’t able to manipulate them as much as I would have liked. The bleach, Vanish powder, water, salt and ink reacted directly with the photographic image. In retrospect, without the negative and chemical layers of the original film, there was little creative licence with these photographs.
